Names Done Right Refund & Satisfaction Policy
Last updated: July 24, 2026 Effective date: July 24, 2026
This is our refund, revision, and satisfaction policy for Names Done Right, a premium baby-naming service by Underline (owner of record: Bharath Ramanidharan). We put this in front of you before checkout — on purpose. A premium digital service should tell you exactly what happens if it falls short, before you pay, not bury it afterward. Here it is, plainly.
If anything below is unclear, email us before you buy: [email protected].
The short version
| Situation | What you get |
|---|---|
| You want changes to your shortlist/report | One free revision, redone to your notes |
| We don't deliver, or deliver materially off-brief | Full refund |
| You're simply not satisfied, within 14 days | 14-day satisfaction window — talk to us; we make it right or refund per the terms below |
| You change your mind before we start work | Full refund |
We are a new, independent business, and we would rather have an honest, happy customer than a forced sale. We back the quality of our process and work product, not a particular emotional reaction (see "Honest limits" below).
1. One free revision (included with every paid order)
Naming is personal, and a first pass won't always nail every nuance. So every paid Names Done Right order includes one free revision:
- After you receive your shortlist and keepsake report, you can send us specific notes — names that miss the mark, preferences we under-weighted, a constraint we should have leaned on harder — and we will re-curate and re-deliver at no extra cost.
- The revision uses the same intake and tier you purchased. (A brand-new brief, or adding a tradition layer you didn't buy, is a new scope — just ask and we'll quote it fairly.)
- Request your free revision within 14 days of delivery. We aim to turn revisions around promptly and will tell you the timing.
2. Full refund if we don't deliver, or deliver materially off-brief
You get a 100% refund if:
- We fail to deliver your shortlist/report by the scheduled reveal (or by a revised time we agreed with you), or
- What we deliver is materially off-brief — i.e., it ignores the core preferences and constraints you clearly stated at intake (for example, you asked for short, classic, single-syllable names rooted in your heritage and we returned long, invented, unrelated ones), and our one free revision does not fix it.
In these cases you are entitled to your money back, in full. We'd rather refund a customer we couldn't serve well than keep payment we didn't earn.
3. 14-day satisfaction window
You have 14 days from delivery to tell us you're not satisfied.
- Always start with a conversation. Email us what didn't land. In most cases, your free revision (Section 1) resolves it — that's what it's for.
- If, after a genuine attempt to make it right, you remain dissatisfied and the issue is about the quality or fit of our work (not simply a change of taste about names in general), we will work with you toward a fair resolution, which may include a partial or full refund at our reasonable, good-faith discretion.
- This window is a satisfaction guarantee on our craft, offered honestly. It is not a guarantee that you will love a specific name, that you and your partner will agree, or that any name produces any outcome — naming is subjective, and no service can promise that (see "Honest limits").
4. Change your mind before we start? Full refund.
Because Names Done Right delivers on a scheduled reveal rather than instantly, there's often a window between your purchase and when we begin curating. If you cancel before we've started substantive work on your order, you get a full refund, no questions asked. Just email us.
Once we've begun creating your shortlist (research, analysis, and data checks are underway), the order is partly fulfilled — at that point the free revision and off-brief / satisfaction terms above are how we make things right, rather than an automatic no-questions refund.
5. Honest digital-good terms (please read)
Names Done Right is a custom, made-to-order digital service. In fairness to a small business, a few honest conditions apply:
- Refunds cover non-delivery, materially off-brief work, and genuine quality/fit problems — not a change of heart about names in general, regret about naming itself, or "we picked a name not on your list" (you're free to do exactly that — see our Terms).
- The free Name Check teaser is free; there's nothing to refund there.
- Tradition layers (numerology, astrology, Vedic nakshatra, gematria) are delivered as a cultural practice, never as a prediction or guarantee — so "the reading didn't come true" is not a refundable event. If the deliverable itself is missing or off-brief, the normal terms above apply.
- Refunds go back to your original payment method via Stripe. We don't keep your card or bank details; Stripe processes the return, which can take a few business days to appear.
- A refund returns what you actually paid, whichever payment method you used.
- Please make refund/revision requests from the email you ordered with, so we can verify the order quickly.
6. How to request a revision or refund
Email [email protected] with:
- The email/order you used, and
- A short note on what's wrong or what you'd like changed.
A real person — the owner or a vetted contractor — will read and respond personally. We are a small independent operation and handle revisions and eligible refunds fairly under this policy.
7. Statutory rights
Nothing in this policy removes any non-waivable consumer rights you have under the law where you live. If your local law gives you stronger refund rights than this policy, those rights apply.
